Emma Tuffin

I grew up in Devon, just outside of Newton Abbot.  After leaving school I attended Bicton College of Agriculture, gaining my British Horse Society Stages 1&11 qualification, I then continued to work within the equine industry. When I realised I couldn’t play horses any longer I entered the world of retail.

I was a supervisor for WHSmith for three years then moved to Mole Valley Farmers as a Farm Sales Advisor.

I gained my Amtra Suitably Qualified Person (SQP) Qualification in 2003 which allowed me to advise and sell animal medicines, such as worm and flea treatments, to a wide variety of animals from cattle to cats.

After spending nearly ten years with Mole Valley Farmers, I joined Newton Clarke Vets in November 2012.

I really enjoy the variety of the job, being on reception no two days are the same and I get to chat to our clients and their lovely pets. I also look after the pet insurance claims here in Sherborne, so I am not always on the front desk but hiding in an office upstairs.

My husband Andrew and I moved to Dorset in 2007, with our two daughters Charlotte, now aged fourteen and Eliza aged eleven. Our home is always busy; we have two dogs, Bella & Bear, and three horses, Dublin, Jack and Dan. As a family we all ride and the girls are members of the Pony Club so we are often off competing somewhere at the weekends. Life is never quiet but when I do get five minutes to myself, I love to read a good thriller with a large glass of red wine!
