Megan Carine

Lead Veterinary Nurse

After finishing my A Levels, I worked at an equine dressage yard as a groom for a few months before starting at Newton Clarke Vets in Jan 2018 as an Animal Nursing Assistant. I swiftly completed the Animal Nursing Assistant course before embarking on the Student Veterinary Nurse training. My continuous professional development led me to undertake a course in Compassion Understood and I’m soon to start a course on Animal Behaviour.

My primary interests at work are anaesthesia, inpatient care and providing the very best end of life care. Being environmentally friendly, I’m on the ‘Green Team’!

Outside of work, I’m interested in photography and videography. In fact, you’ll probably see some of my photography featured on the Newton Clarke Vets website and Facebook page. I enjoy spending time with my pets and taking my Jack Russell, Bertie, on long walks. I love horses and small furry animals (especially rats). I used to have pet rats and they were the loveliest pets, I can’t wait to have more one day!

I find it very rewarding nursing a patient back to health, taking care of them as if they were my one. There’s nothing better than caring for a patient and then seeing them going back home happy again!
