Our philosophy

Our goal is to provide transparent,
compassionate care for your pet lifelong.

Newton Clarke Veterinary Surgeons are not just another vets, if you scratch just below the surface, you will find a team of people with a common goal and desire. We are here to provide you and your pets with a compassionate, modern and professional service in an environment where we listen to the needs of you, your pet and also each other’s.

We have an experienced team of veterinary surgeons, many of whom have certificates ranging from Small Animal Surgery to Dermatology. This, together with a number of visiting external specialists and ably supported by our team of veterinary nurses and receptionists allows us to provide a unique, trusted and compassionate service for both you and your pets in modern, medical surroundings.

We aim to provide the highest standard of care for your pet.

Whether healthcare advice or dealing with complex medical or surgical problems. We build relationships with owners and their animals based on trust and mutual respect and always welcome questions on any aspect of your pet’s treatment.

We believe in preventative healthcare to identify behavioural and medical problems early on in your pets’ development and we believe in early intervention. This approach relies on regular examinations when we discuss the individual needs of your pet.

All staff maintain a high standard of technical ability through continuous professional development.

In addition to ongoing training for our qualified team, we’re proud to be a training practice. As part of our ongoing commitment to student development, our students may be involved in the care of your animals under the guidance and direction of the qualified veterinary team. Of course, we always respect the right of owners to withdraw consent for students’ involvement at any time.

We are an independently owned practice. We sit uniquely amongst a sea of corporates and are now the only independent practice in the area.

This means we manage our practice ourselves, without requiring authorisation from a Head Office; allowing us to change quickly in response to feedback from both pet owners and team members alike.

The people that you meet day to day, who treat and care for your pets, are the people responsible for making the decisions that keep our practice running smoothly and progressing.

The decisions that we make in our practice are to improve pet care, owner experience and team wellbeing; they are not based on directions from Shareholders to achieve financial targets and goals. We reinvest in your pets care, in our facilities, in our equipment and extensively in team training.

We are proudly independent.
