Cats and Dogs: the uniqueness of cats

As in all walks of life, there are many old sayings in veterinary medicine. One is “a cat is not a small dog”. How true. Cats and dogs are the most common pets we see. Vets often specialise in large or small animals. It’s not really logical as cows are very different to horses and […]
Next Steps at Newton Clarke

As the government has taken its first steps in easing our lockdown, we all wait to see what the future holds for us and the containment of the Covid-19 virus. It has certainly made us consider our next steps as a veterinary practice.
Responding to Change

We are all coming to terms with the “new normal”. A term that has entered our vocabulary over the last few months. There are several other unwelcome phrases relating to this very abnormal period in our lives. Responding to change hasn’t been easy. At the very start of coronavirus, the veterinary profession was determined to […]

Kilimanjaro: Charity climb!

I have been given the opportunity to trek up and summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, in July 2019. Raising money to fund vital research into brain tumours in conjunction with The Lewis Moody Foundation.
New Vets: Introductions

Each month the numbers of pets we are seeing through our doors continues to increase. Some of this is due to the relocation of our Yeovil surgery, but more importantly word of mouth encourages new pet owners to experience the care our team is consistently providing at both our surgeries. As a result we have once again added to our team, Amaia joined us in May and Peter in July this year.
