Grace Gaylard

Student Veterinary Nurse

I am currently studying for a level 3 Certificate in Equine Management, at Kingston Maurward, further to doing a Level 2 Animal Nursing Assistant course at Linwood School of Veterinary Nursing.

As a horse rider and show jumper in my spare time, I started out working for a riding school where I stayed for three years. It’s not only horses that I love, I am a cat person too, so I love getting to meet and handle lots of new breeds at Newton Clarke Vets. My ambition is to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and I am currently studying hard to progress the right qualifications.

I’m from Somerset but have also lived in Cornwall for six years, whilst remaining firmly in the Southwest.

Alongside horse riding, netball is also my thing. I’ve played for Yeovil and Stanchester Academy.

I have two cats, Lionel Richie and Shanaynay who are four and five, respectively. Our dogs are a little more mature with Randy aged seven and Snarf, thirteen. On top of this, I can’t leave out the chicks; my parents keep and hatch their own chickens!

The Newton Clarke Vets team have always been really supportive and offer a wealth of experience.
